10/3/2007 – I added a stress reduction kit to my office door. This should help with the days issues.

(BANG HEAD HERE)

Directions:
1. Place kit on FIRM surface.
2. Follow directions in circle of kit.
3. Repeat step 2 as necessary, or until unconscious.
4. If unconscious, cease stress reduction activity.

Do you feel like your life is full of stress? There are so many things begging for your attention, and you may be out of steam. This article has good insights you can use to lower your stress levels soon.

Visual imagery can be a great stress reduction tool. Studies have been done that suggest that using imagery of visual calm is highly effective in stress reduction. For example, while in a warm shower, imagine that you are out by the pool in the sun relaxing, and allow this to eliminate all your stress. Taking a few seconds to relax and imagine something calming will help dramatically to lower stress levels.

A simple, rubber ball is a great object to squeeze due to the stress relieved via creating tension. By squeezing your hand together, balling it up in a fist, and then releasing it you can help relieve stress and tightness from your body. This helps your muscles relax from a tense state. You can keep a stress ball with you wherever you go, and anytime you feel frustrated, take it out and give it a squeeze.

Understand the source of your stress! When you learn about what puts you under stress and increases your stress levels, you are in a better position to work to reduce it. Stress can be caused by a variety of things. For example as a response to an event occurring, or because of what another person did. If you know what is stressing you, then you can work on reducing or getting rid of it.

Take the time to do something for someone else. Consider buying a little treat or toy for your child, or surprising your partner with their favorite meal. Doing these nice tasks will help you keep your mind off stressful things, and make you happier.

Develop some strong coping mechanisms for dealing with particularly stressful situations. You should be able to consciously apply them. One good one is self-talk. This is when you make positive statements to yourself as you feel yourself start to get stressed out. Having a positive mental outlook will allow your to perceive your situation in a healthy way.

Living life stress-free seems like an impossible task, but it can happen. Think about times that you have felt stress and figure out what caused it. Once you begin to identify your stress triggers, you will be able to find ways to avoid them.

Figure out what causes the most stress for you and try to eliminate that factor or cut down on it significantly. Try to reduce the friends in your life who elevate your stress level or cause you to become angry for no reason. The fewer things you have in your life that stress you out, the better your quality of life will be.

One of the best weapons to employ in your battle against stress is exercise. This is not a fast way to fix things, but it is a better way to make your life easier to live. This not only helps relieve stress, it also gives a person a self confidence boost, as well as a handle on their life.

Aromatherapy is another technique people have used effectively to reduce stress. Aromas work directly on the brain and can bring quick relaxation. Oils like chamomile or lavender can reduce or just melt away tension. Keep a little vial of essential oil on hand, so that you can take a whiff from time-to-time to calm your nerves.

As stated at the start of this document, you could be feeling stressed out and overwhelmed. With all that’s going on, it is not hard to get overwhelmed and frazzled. If you try to use the ideas from this article, you should have no problem becoming less stressed.
